From\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.camac-harps.com\/blog\/en_blog\/2015\/09\/new-jazz-album-from-ben-creighton-griffiths\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ben&#8217;s dog going for a walk<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.camac-harps.com\/blog\/en_blog\/2015\/07\/elisabeth-valletti-releases-sacrum5-midi-harp-megadisc-classics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MIDI harp imagining\u00a0the microcosmic sound of the human body<\/a>,\u00a0our selection is eclectic and\u00a0constantly-updated. It&#8217;s a source of great pleasure and interest for us, and (we hope) also for you.<\/p>\n<p>One of these new albums is <a href=\"http:\/\/hectorbraga.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hector Braga<\/a>&#8216;s latest, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harpes-camac-boutique.net\/product_info.php?products_id=3583&amp;osCsid=0thnv9kg5bmhcis1rb857ggrh4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La Fonda de Lola<\/a>. It contains thirteen songs<span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\">\u00a0<span class=\"\">that mark an important moment\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"\">in<\/span>\u00a0his\u00a0<span class=\"\">career<\/span>,\u00a0<span class=\"\">and brings together over fifty musicians including the<\/span><span class=\"\">\u00a0A Siero Chamber Orchestra, and the Picos de Europa Pipe Band. Hector is an\u00a0Asturian traditional musician &#8211; and, like much traditional music, Asturian music is not exclusively\u00a0Asturian. &#8220;Asturian music has a lot in common with Breton, Irish and Scottish music&#8221;, Hector explains. &#8220;It&#8217;s linked to the Celtic lands, Asturia and Galicia\u00a0have Celtic origins. There are many dances, a lot of use of drones (and bagpipes), and instruments dating back to the Middle Ages. I&#8217;m also an ethnomusicologist, very interested in the Celtic question in Asturian music.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In this album,\u00a0<span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\">I am blending traditional Asturian music and songs, with other cultural references from this part of Spain, like echoes of\u00a0South American\u00a0and flamenco.\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\">The single &#8220;La fonda de Lola&#8221; is<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"\">a Havana<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"\">that I wrote<\/span>\u00a0some\u00a0<span class=\"\">years ago. It&#8217;s about\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"\">an<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"\">immigrant who<\/span>\u00a0doesn&#8217;t make his\u00a0<span class=\"\">fortune &#8211; instead, he<\/span><span class=\"\">\u00a0lives<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"\">surrounded by<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"\">pleasures and<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"\">women, before<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"\">returning to<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"\">his home village<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"gdpr_opt_in\" data-cc-enable=\"youtube\">\n<div class=\"gdpr_opt_in__inner\">I want to enable video content and agree that data will be loaded from Google (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.camac-harps.com\/blog\/en\/news\/echoes-of-asturia-hector-bragas-la-fonda-de-lola\/\" target=\"_blank\">Privacy Policy<\/a>).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"video_container\">\n<div class=\"video_container__inner\"><iframe title=\"H\u00e9ctor Braga: &quot;La fonda de Lola&quot;\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" alt-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/mttxC-NdP9A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>I&#8217;m a singer, and as well as the harp I play the hurdy gurdy, fiddle, bagpipes and\u00a0rebec. I&#8217;m a self-taught harpist; my Asturian friend, the harpist\u00a0Fernando Largo, suggested I learn the harp to accompany myself while singing. My first harp was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.camac-harps.com\/blog\/en\/harps-eng\/lever-eng\/korrigan-eng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Korrigan<\/a>, which I later exchanged for an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.camac-harps.com\/blog\/en\/harps-eng\/lever-eng\/aziliz-eng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aziliz<\/a>. Recently, after I finished recording my new album, I acquired a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.camac-harps.com\/blog\/en\/harps-eng\/electric-eng\/dhc-32-blue-light-eng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DHC Blue Light<\/a>.
