Its lyrics are a beautiful poem written by Reusser; you can read them on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elisabethvalletti.com\">elisabethvalletti.com,<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/elisabethvallettimusic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@ElizabethVallettiMusic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It\u2019s not an organ playing &#8211; it\u2019s our Blue Harp prototype!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Elisabeth notes in her scrapbook (1992): \u201cFiddling around with the various sound treatment racks at the studio, we got this awesome, organ-like sound coming out of \u201cThe Blue\u201d (as Camac named their first electric concert harp). Handing me a poem he had just written down, Jean-Michel asked me \u2013 just for fun \u2013 to try it as a song. Coincidently, a harmonic suite I had in mind was perfect for the organ sound, and was put down to tape. I then recorded the lead vocal in a single take while holding the poem in my hand. No thinking, no hesitations, as if the melody was naturally calling my voice to sing it&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/idol.lnk.to\/The_Age_of_Trees\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-28290\" src=\"https:\/\/www.camac-harps.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2020\/11\/vallettitheageoftrees-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"Elisabeth Valletti: The Age of Trees\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.camac-harps.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2020\/11\/vallettitheageoftrees-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.camac-harps.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2020\/11\/vallettitheageoftrees-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.camac-harps.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2020\/11\/vallettitheageoftrees-55x55.jpg 55w, https:\/\/www.camac-harps.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2020\/11\/vallettitheageoftrees-250x250.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.camac-harps.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/27\/2020\/11\/vallettitheageoftrees.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Jean-Michel Reusser adds: \u201cOften, for a valid reason, when deciding which songs will make it onto the album, some songs are left aside and aren&#8217;t part of the final cut. They are doomed to be forgotten. Years later, sometimes a tape resurfaces from the vaults, and upon listening to it, you can\u2019t help but wonder why this particular song was left out. You have no answers, just a blurred memory and a song once in your hands; this time, ready for release.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The Age of Trees&#8221; is now available on all the usual <a href=\"https:\/\/idol.lnk.to\/The_Age_of_Trees?fbclid=IwAR1KrTN_CpnMdWza-7rhXhAKoVUHzwXQU6gLGz5tqMU2QYTGoR2jDF1qxww\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">streaming platforms,<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-dIKw-_w8bw\">YouTube<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/104418081452884\/1338500573178973\/\">Facebook<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.elisabethvalletti.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Elisabeth Valletti<\/a> has been at the forefront of the contemporary harp since the 1980s. Albums she\u2019s collaborated on include Leonard Cohen&#8217;s I&#8217;m Your Man, Quantum Dub Force, and The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill; she\u2019s also worked with jazz musicians like Kent Carter, Jean Jacques Avenel, Daniel Cobbi and Bobby Few. In the early nineties, she wrote &#8220;Credis I and II\u201d, an ambient piece for NUNC Music, receiving rave reviews. It also caught the attention of Chris Blackwell, Bob Marley&#8217;s producer, who signed her to release <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Tzdbzy00WZU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Innocenti<\/a> (Universal \/ 1998). &#8220;This is one of the best-produced things I&#8217;ve heard in years&#8221;, said Brian Eno. &#8220;I\u2019m very impressed by E. Valletti, her voice and harp-playing, and also by the really musical feel of the whole thing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Subsequently, Elisabeth released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1aP__jHLIqw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A Harper: rap-oper-harp<\/a> about King David; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NjwC84pD5o0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Orfeo Project<\/a>, a collection of songs and suites drawing inspiration from everything from physicists&#8217; String Theory, to the Tibetan Book of the Dead and the Boildieu harp concerto. Her work is a unique mixture of classical, ethnic, electronica, jazz and rock, using the acoustic harp and the electric and MIDI harps with sound processing equipment: FX Pedals, Hardware + PedalBoard, and different musical software&#8221;.\u201cI love technology\u201d, says Elisabeth, \u201cbecause it is limitless. You can always be learning something new.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After meeting Joel Garnier, who had just made an electric lever harp for Alan Stivell, Elisabeth became instrumental in the development of Camac&#8217;s amplified pedal harps. She still plays her custom, first prototype version of the Blue Harp: solid-body, with four outputs and a curved board. It was also heavily thanks to Elisabeth\u2019s \u201cHarp Haikus\u201d that the Camac MIDI harp received the QWARTZ \/ Max Matthews prize for technological innovation in 2011. A subsequent residency with the MIDI harp at the IRCAM and at the GRM de Radio France <a href=\"https:\/\/www.camac-harps.com\/blog\/en\/uncategorized\/elisabeth-valletti-releases-sacrum5-midi-harp-megadisc-classics\/\">saw the creation<\/a> of her album &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/shop.camac-harps.com\/en\/product\/elisabeth-valletti-sacrum-5-midi-harp\/\">Sacrum&#8217;5&#8243;<\/a> \/ Megadisc Classics. She is now preparing the release of her next project A TALE.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Truly, she is a unique voice for the electric harp, expressing and defining so many fascinating aspects of its evolution.
