Ghislaine Petit-Volta and Arnaud Petit worked together to create the work, using an interface developed by Jean-Philippe Lambert and performance tools built by signal specialists James Leonard and J\u00e9r\u00f4me Villeneuve.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The result is a marriage of science, engineering and art, particularly exploring the interaction between the real instrument, and a modelled virtual one. Advances in instrument-making have always redefined the repertoire created for it &#8211; and the challenge for the instrumentalist lies in the extension of their precise mastery of sound.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cOrbis\u201d has been commissioned by Camac Harps, and made possible with support of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gipsa-lab.grenoble-inp.fr\/en\/home.php\">GIPSA-lab<\/a> (Grenoble Images Speech Signal and Control), the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grenoble-inp.fr\/en\">Grenoble Institute of Technology<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.culture.gouv.fr\/en\/\">French Ministry of Culture<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.univ-grenoble-alpes.fr\/english\/\">Universit\u00e9 Grenoble Alpes<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnrs.fr\/\">CNRS<\/a> (Centre national de la recherche scientifique).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The premiere will take place at 17:00 on Saturday, September 18 2021, at CENTQUATRE, 5 Rue Curial, 75019 Paris.
