Gwenan Gibbard<\/p><\/div>\n

Gwenan\u00a0stands at the forefront of today\u2019s thriving Welsh traditional music scene with her unique, contemporary arrangements of Welsh traditional music and songs. \u00a0She also specialises in the unique art of \u2018Cerdd Dant<\/a>\u2019, the ancient form of singing Welsh poetry to the accompaniment of the harp, and is one of the few people who performs this music self-accompanied on the harp. \u00a0 Her performances have been far and wide, in numerous festivals and concerts in several countries, including Canada, North America and Europe, and her musical collaborations include recording projects and live performances with artists such as Cerys Matthews and Beth Nielsen Chapman. \u00a0She has released three solo albums on the Sain label, her most recent, \u2018Cerdd Dannau<\/a>\u2019, being\u00a0an unique and exciting album which explores a new perspective on the Cerdd Dant tradition. \u00a0Her newly released EP \u2018Y Gorwel Porffor\u2019 explores the cultural and musical connections between Wales and Patagonia, South America.<\/p>\n

\"Gwenan<\/a>In Hong Kong, Gwenan performed\u00a0at various music schools and university music departments in conjunction with Bangor University\u2019s exchange visit to the region. She appeared\u00a0at Harp Chamber<\/a>, one of our Hong Kong partners, and for\u00a0the Welsh Society of Hong Kong with\u00a0the Hong Kong Male Voice Choir<\/a>. She also performed\u00a0at the\u00a0Eslite book and music stores in association with her HK record label\u00a0Sunrise Music<\/a>,\u00a0and\u00a0Grandview Culture<\/a>.<\/p>\n
