Our warmest congratulations go to Isabelle Moretti, who has been awarded the prestigious Prix Gis\u00e8le Tissier-Grandpierre 2023. The prize, designed to reward a harpist whose career deserves recognition, was presented on Tuesday 5 November 2024 by the Chancellor of the Institut de France, Mr Xavier Darcos, in the presence of jury president and composer Ms Edith Canat de Chizy, member of the Acad\u00e9mie des beaux-arts.<\/span><\/p>\n

As president of the jury, Edith Canat de Chizy pointed out that Isabelle was being awarded the Grand Prix de la Fondation Tissier-Grandpierre in recognition of her brilliant career as an international soloist and her role as an eminent teacher. She also pointed out that Alexandra Bidi, Isabelle’s pupil at the Paris Conservatoire, had won the prize for the best interpretation of the piece she had composed at the last ARD competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Isabelle said:\u00a0 \u201c<\/span>I am extremely happy and proud to have been awarded the Prix Tissier Grandpierre. Many thanks to Mr Xavier Darcos, Chancellor of the Institut de France, Mrs Edith Canat de Chizy and Mr R\u00e9gis Campo, members of the Acad\u00e9mie des Beaux-arts, for honouring me with this prestigious prize and, above all, thanks to the Del Duca Foundation, which so passionately supports harpists (and harpsichordists). There are very few foundations in Europe that support our beautiful instrument, and this deserves all our gratitude.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The ceremony was concluded by a short performance by Isabelle, where she augmented the occasion with her luminous artistry. Her programme included the Arabesques of Claude Debussy, Hiraeth by Grace Williams, and\u00a0 Faur\u00e9’s Impromptu.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nobody in the harp world is a stranger to Isabelle and her art, as a soloist, recitalist, masterclass clinician and teacher, she has continually sought (and achieved) the very highest standards for the harp, and her name is now a byword for excellence, brilliance and sensitivity.
