With her latest educational resource, “Flavours of Turkish Music for Harpists,” Şirin draws on her extensive experience exploring Turkish harp music to inspire harpists from any background and introduce them to Turkish melodies and rhythms in a clear, accessible manner. It brings us great joy to see the Académie Camac banner go international, largely thanks to the efforts of our friend and collaborator, Mr Duoli Wu of Aria Music, who has helped us establish the Académie Camac in China. In January 2026, in its second edition, the programme hosted classes at the Beijing Central Conservatory, in Fuzhou, before returning to Beijing for sessions at the harp studio of Mr Aaron Ma. ‘Dasson an Delenn’ 2026: Registration is now open!

As of today, January 5, 2026, applications are now open for the 'Dasson an Delenn' Celtic harp competition! Organised by Camac, the competition is designed for harp students under 21 of any nationality. It signals our ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of appreciation and admiration for the Celtic harp in all its guises. Whereas our Camac Trophy, awarded each year as part of the Festival Interceltique de Lorient, recognises lever harpists at the highest professional level, we created the event in 2014 to provide opportunities to budding lever harpists to demonstrate their talent. It is a chance to perform publicly before a distinguished panel, showcasing repertoire for the lever harp—whether original compositions or arrangements. Read more…
A vision in Pastel: The Debut Album from Mélanie Laurent

Gold medalist of the USA International Harp Competition and solo harpist of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, Mélanie Laurent is undoubtedly one of the most eminent French harpists working today. Given her background, she has a natural affinity with the ethereal music of her compatriots. In tribute to the exquisite lightness of French repertoire, Mélanie titled her debut album Pastel, a word rich with delicate connotations. We asked Mélanie what this title specifically meant to her. “The album title resonates with me in several ways. First, it's a nod to my origins, through the pastel flower, nicknamed ‘the blue gold" of Toulouse. It also represents a palette of soft, subtle colors, as well as a drawing medium, like the harp, allowing me to paint an impressionistic universe full of nuances. These hues evoke delicacy, transparency, and subtlety, suggesting without imposing.” Read more…
