The Edinburgh International Harp Festival 2026

April 1, 2026
It is almost time for the Edinburgh International Harp Festival! This is one of the most distinguished and important events in the international harp calendar, and as always, it is one you simply won't want to miss! We're proud to be one of the sponsors and to be supporting an inspiring lineup of performers. This includes none other than Catrin Finch, in her duo with violinist Aoife Ní Bhriain, who are a formidable virtuoso duo, and their rousing, original music always brings the audience to its feet. On the Celtic side of things, we will sponsor a concert by our great friend Marianne Gubri (Brittany/ Italy), who we are also delighted will be flying the flag for Camac.   This fabulous edition (now in its 45th year) returns to George Watson’s College from 10 to 14 April 2026. Read more…

The Académie Camac in China 2026

February 18, 2026

It brings us great joy to see the Académie Camac banner go international, largely thanks to the efforts of our friend and collaborator, Mr Duoli Wu of Aria Music, who has helped us establish the Académie Camac in China. In January 2026, in its second edition, the programme hosted classes at the Beijing Central Conservatory, in Fuzhou, before returning to Beijing for sessions at the harp studio of Mr Aaron Ma. ‘Dasson an Delenn’ 2026: Registration is now open!

January 5, 2026

As of today, January 5, 2026, applications are now open for the 'Dasson an Delenn' Celtic harp competition!  Organised by Camac, the competition is designed for harp students under 21 of any nationality. It signals our ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of appreciation and admiration for the Celtic harp in all its guises.  Whereas our Camac Trophy, awarded each year as part of the Festival Interceltique de Lorient, recognises lever harpists at the highest professional level, we created the event in 2014 to provide opportunities to budding lever harpists to demonstrate their talent. It is a chance to perform publicly before a distinguished panel, showcasing repertoire for the lever harp—whether original compositions or arrangements.  Read more…

A vision in Pastel: The Debut Album from Mélanie Laurent

November 22, 2025

Gold medalist of the USA International Harp Competition and solo harpist of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, Mélanie Laurent is undoubtedly one of the most eminent French harpists working today. Given her background, she has a natural affinity with the ethereal music of her compatriots. In tribute to the exquisite lightness of French repertoire, Mélanie titled her debut album Pastel, a word rich with delicate connotations. We asked Mélanie what this title specifically meant to her. “The album title resonates with me in several ways. First, it's a nod to my origins, through the pastel flower, nicknamed ‘the blue gold" of Toulouse. It also represents a palette of soft, subtle colors, as well as a drawing medium, like the harp, allowing me to paint an impressionistic universe full of nuances. These hues evoke delicacy, transparency, and subtlety, suggesting without imposing.”

The Art of the Electric Harp: a series of videos by Aurélie Barbé

November 3, 2025

Aurélie Barbé is a long-time friend of Camac; in fact, she recently lent her musical creations to the series of videos we created to introduce you to our new and improved manufacturing workshops. In 2020, she was awarded the prestigious Gisèle Tissier-Grandpierre Foundation Award. The foundation's support has enabled Aurélie to realise a series of video interviews in which she explores the work of her fellow electro-harpists.
