We are proud to support the fifth Wales International Harp Festival, which will take place in Caernarfon between April 5-11, 2023. It will be a busy week, full of superb concerts and an international competition. Isabelle Moretti, Deborah Henson-Conant, Edmar Castaneda, Catrin Finch and Festival Director Elinor Bennett are all on the programme. As for the competition, this runs in four categories: Junior, Youth, Chief Musician and world music.
The Camac team will be out in force along with our esteemed Welsh partners Telynau Vining, supplying harps for the competition and cheering everyone on!
The Festival is also going to be Elinor Bennett’s final one as Artistic Director, and we are looking forward to a joyful celebration of her incredible contribution to the harp world over the decades.

As well as being a unique performer, composer and recording artist, Marianne Gubri is the director of the International Harp Therapy Program in Italy and France. She regularly gives classes and lectures on improvisation, composition and therapeutic approaches.
On the 15 April at the Espace Camac, you will have the chance both to hear Gubri and to enrich your playing and improvising.
The day will begin with an Introduction to Harp Therapy; a chance for harpists (with at least one year’s experience) to discover a rich variety of improvisation patterns, play creatively and understand various concepts as applied in the fields of music and sound therapy.
This presentation will be followed by a performance of her beautiful Vita Nuova Programme, a concert that explores renewal and innovation, inspired by the poetic texts of Dante.

Come and spend an afternoon revelling in an intimate sound world at the Harfengalerie Camac, Berlin. Sophie Shen (currently the academist of the Von Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic) will give a magnificent programme of solos. Sophie’s current mentor and principal harpist of the Philharmonic, Marie-Pierre Langlamet, will be joined by Upama Muckenstern (flute, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester), in a classic instrumental combination that will be the perfect sound palette for a May afternoon.
There will be a rich variety of works ranging from the delicate classicism of Rameau and Dussek, to the beloved romanticism of Renié and Fauré, to more piquant sounds from the likes of Britten and Poulenc.

As the spring reaches its height, we have great pleasure in presenting an Evening in Paris with harp ensembles from Israel, Taiwan and France.
Each of these groups brings its own unique identity and sensibility to a joyous evening of music.
Ensemble Yakinton, a group whose members come from all over Israel, will perform original pieces as well as traditional Israeli tunes, in an expression of the diverse ‘mosaic’ of Israeli culture.
Monamis (featuring graduates of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and the Taiwan Department of Music) a group whose name evokes friendship and unity, will enrich the programme with arrangements of classical and film music as well as traditional music.
Harpo-Mélusine is a flexible harp ensemble made up of 3 to 20 harpists of all ages and all levels. Aided by original musical choices from the worlds of pop, rock, world, Celtic and film music, the group aims to share the music of the harp with the widest possible audience.

Formed in the balmy climes of the Caribbean, The Transatlantic Hot Club was founded by Ben Creighton Griffiths (Harp) and Adrien Chevalier (Violin) in 2013 whilst both performing at ‘Journées de la Harpe’, a festival that takes place on the islands of Martinique, Guadeloupe, St Anne, and St Lucia, and in French Guyana. Apart from having since returned to that festival, the group has been featured in many of the foremost jazz venues and festivals of the United Kingdom over the past decade. Their sound is a heady mix of gypsy and jazz influences and they present a unique force in terms of jazz harp today.
We are delighted that as they embark on their Summer tour, they will make a stop at the Espace Camac, bringing all their colour, fire and irresistible rhythm to the Parisian evening! Confirm your attendance here: June 8, 7pm- Don’t miss it!

Sylvain Blassel and Nikolaz Cadoret are both masters within their respective musical spheres. Blassel as conductor, performer, analyst and teacher; Cadoret as Breton traditional musician, improvisor and innovator. You can hear them both, as well as gaining from their vast expertise at the Camac Harp Days in Munich (15-17 June 2023)

Ircam is one of Paris’ most iconic musical centres: a place considered a temple to the intersection of music and electronic innovation.
Commissioned by that institution, and after an intense period of collaboration , Parker Ramsay (harp) and the American composer Josh Levine present Anyway : a new work of ambition and stunning dimensions.
Drawing on fragments of such richly ornamented pieces as Froberger’s Tombeau(1652) de Froberger sur la mort de Monsieur Blancrocher,the American composer Josh Levine imagines a musical monument akin to those that emerged from composers of 17th century France.
As befits Ircam, complex electronics, tunings and techniques of distortion will ‘destabilise the timbre and intonation of the harp’. Combined with external sounds from nature, the harp and electronics will work in symbiosis with the space itself, to create a fascinating musical whole.
To our great pride, the premier will be achieved using our Camac Big Blue, taking its place at the cutting edge of musical innovation as it was always meant to.
Complementing this premiere are Michael Jarrell’s Offrande, and a further premiere by David Fulmer, incorporating a chorale by J.S. Bach.
